2. Eligibility Criteria:
There are typically two entry points to the CA course, depending on the educational background of the student
Foundation Route: For students who have completed their secondary (high school) education (Class 12 in India or equivalent), this is the starting point of the course.
Direct Entry Route: Graduates, particularly those with a background in commerce or a related field, can bypass the Foundation level and enroll directly at the Intermediate level. This route is also open to postgraduates and candidates who have completed the intermediate level of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
3. Couse Structure:
The CA course is divided into three main stages:
- Foundation Level
- Intermediate Level (IPCC/IPCE)
- Final Level
Each level is progressively more difficult, and students must complete a practical training component (articleship) alongside their studies.
Foundation Level
The Foundation level is an introductory stage aims at teaching fundamental knowledge in accounting, business laws, basic airthmatics and business economics. This level consists of four papers:
- Principles and Practice of Accounting
- Business Laws
- Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Statistics
- Business Economics
Intermediate Level (IPCC/IPCE)
The Intermediate level is a more advanced stage and covers deeper concepts in accounting, taxation, auditing, and financial management. This level is divided into two groups, each containing three subjects as per 2024 new scheme announced by ICAI.

- Corporate Laws
- Cost and Management Accounting
Group 2 - Intermediate (New Scheme 2024
- Taxation
- Auditing and Ethics
- Financial Management and Strategic Management
- After clearing intermediate level candidates are required to complete IT & Orientation course before joining articleship for 2 years.
Final Level
The Final level is the last stage of the CA course and is designed to provide expertise in areas such as advanced financial management, international taxation, risk management, and auditing. Like the Intermediate level, the Final level is divided into two groups, each consisting of s papers.

- Financial Reporting (FR)
- Strategic Financial Management (SFM)
- Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics
- Corporate and Economic Laws
Final Group 2 (New Scheme 2024)
- Advanced Management Accounting and Performance Evaluation
- Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation
- Indirect Tax Laws (GST and Customs)
Optional Elective Paper (One Elective from the Following)
In the new scheme, students are required to select one elective from a set of specialized subjects. These electives are designed to allow students to tailor their learning to their professional interests and career goals. The available electives include:

4. Practical Training (Articleship)
